ONE FLESH

The exhibition is made up of 20 large scale figurative and expressive paintings that describe the relationship between me and my 95 years old mother – an Auschwitz survivor. It is done in staged positions that took place in my home space and in my mind.

The painting portrays the relationship between two old women from a personal and intimate female point of view, while investigating and poignantly observing the old body.

Brutal traumas passed on between generations are embodied in the scars of the body and mind and are connected to Nemesh’s personal life story. These expressions are deeply connected to the artist’s reflection upon the history of the art world.
